GETTING TO KNOW: LUCIE LANGENKAMP

Lucie is a tennis coach at our Fairfield location in Fairfield, CT. Native to the Czech Republic, she came to the U.S. in 2010 where she began her collegiate athletic career at Oklahoma Christian. One of her greatest accomplishments include winning an NAIA doubles national championship. Let’s get to know Lucie even more! 


Q: What’s your name and how long have you been a coach at Fairfield Tennis? 

A: Hi, my name is Lucie Langenkamp and I’ve been coaching tennis for about 15 years, and this is my 6th year at Fairfield Tennis.

Q: Do you have a specific age preference you like to work with? 

A: Juniors have been my passion, but I love working with anyone and everyone. 

Q: Is there anything significant about your tennis past that you want to share? 

A: I played tennis in college where I participated in some ITF tournaments, then went straight to club coaching.


Q: What is one thing that you love most about tennis? 

A: I love to run, so my playing style is to run and get a lot of balls back and be aggressive. I love running and being active. 

Q: Outside of tennis do you have a favorite local restaurant or bar that you like to go to?

A: I don’t spend too much time in Fairfield, but I have a bunch of favorite restaurants in Westchester, New York and one of my favorites is Da Giorgio, that’s probably the best one.
