kids lessons

Depending on your child’s age, ability level, and interest, there are multiple ways to get started playing tennis or improve your tennis game! The truth is that there is no “right age” for your child to start playing tennis. In fact, we know lifelong tennis players who didn’t pick up the sport until they were in their teens!

Of course, the younger the child is, the easier it will be to develop proper long-term habits and muscle memory when hitting tennis strokes. For many years now, the sport has been taught using a variety of different tennis balls which vary in size, weight and compression to make it easier for kids to have success playing regardless of age. Please refer to the general chart below to give you a better idea.

Likewise, racquet technology has improved in recent years to allow for a greater variety of properly-sized racquets for kids depending not only on age but also a child’s physical size.

All of this means that it’s never been a better time for your child to learn the sport of tennis the right way.
